Morimori and the one thing he really wanted to have...

1.森川さんが中学生のとき・・・
どうしても欲しくて、パクって自宅まで持って来てしまったのは・・・
工事現場にある交通整備用の赤いポール

ちなみに、この事件は、学校の朝礼で校長が「盗んだ人は名のりでなさい。」というほどの大問題になってしまった。森川さんは結局、その場では名のりでなかったが、それから数日後の夜、森川さんが自分の部屋で寝ていたとき、母親に起こされ「あの事件の犯人、まさかアンタじゃないわよね？」と問いつめられた。そこでも森川さんはシラをきったが、暗い部屋の中で母親の視線は、机の奥にしまってあった蛍光仕様の赤いポールが放つ鈍い光に向けられていた。その後、この事件の犯人だということがバレてしまった森川さんは、校長室で正座させられた。

This should be a really well-known one, but I couldn't help but translate this one.

During Morimori's junior high school days, he had something he just HAD to have, to the point he had to bring it home. What was it? It was one of those red cones you see in construction sites. (Japanese reads 'po-ru', or a pole, but I think cone is a better word as we are all more familiar with that)

For some reason, this 'theft' was talked about so much that it was mentioned in Morimori's school and the principal requested the 'criminal' to come up and give his name. In the end, Morimori didn't give his name in. A few nights after, Morimori was in his room sleeping when suddenly he was woken up by his mother, "Don't tell me the criminal in that event was you?". (Insert one sentence I didn't understand). He then noticed his mother's view went toward a corner of his room where something red and glowing sat at the top of his desk... After that, it was revealed that Morimori was the 'criminal' and then he was required to kneel (I'm not too sure of this: seiza - dictionary meaning is seat of honour - it's most likely NOT a good thing in this case, so I used kneel) in the principal's office.

Hahaha.

2. 森っちと石田さんは同い年。(学年は森っちが1つ上)デビュー時期も近く、今までに、外画・アニメなど共演した作品が数しれない２人は、仲が良い。
でも。
『彰くんは昔から知ってるし、現場でも仲いいし、イベントやラジオでも２人ともはじけるけど、　　　
《おまえら》のイベントだけは、さそえない・・・』
extra: 『《森川・檜山のおまえらのためだろ》のイベントだけは、返事がわかってるから、さそえない・・・』

Ahahaha. So, the beginning of the trivia states how Morimori and Ishida-san were born in the same year and debuted at around the same time and they have also worked together for countless number of works and are good friends. However... quoted from Morimori: "I knew Akira-kun from a long time ago, and we are good friends even during recordings, and we get along (somewhere along that) during events and radio stations, but Omaera (no Tame daro!) is the one event that I won't invite him to..."

It was said that the reason was because Morimori knows what the answer will be if he asks Ishida-san so he won't invite him. Haha, Ishida-san would probably then hold a grudge (a cute one, maybe) against Morimori, haha.

And well, yeah, I can't imagine Ishida-san in Omaera... really. I can't imagine Ishida-san crossdressing... I can't. And I sort of don't want him to, too ^_~



Morimori's type

3.帝王・森もりの、好みのタイプは・・・・・
綺麗な髪で、ショート・ヘアーの女性。
ちなみに、胸の大きさは「問わない」のだそうです。

(昔二人でやっていたラジオで言ってました)
その理由(？)かどうかは分かりませんが、
その時、相方・檜山さんに
「そうだよなー、好きになっちゃったら関係ないよなー、ってか、バストなら、お前が充分持ってるもんなー」と、ツッコまれていました・・・・

The emperor, Morimori's type of women is... one with pretty and short hair. He said he doesn't mind bust sizes (lol.)

Morimori said the above in an old radio show with Hiyama Nobuyuki. And after Morimori said what type of women he liked, Hiyama said, "That's true isn't it~~ as long as (you) like (that person) it doesn't matter... and, if we're talking about busts here, you have a big enough one yourself~~"

I know, not much of a trivia, but I laughed. Hard. My translation can't express it, but it was quite funny how Hiyama said it.

4.「最初は驚いたが、今はもう慣れてしまった事は。」という話で、

『業界専門用語と、保志に告白される事』と、答えた事がある。
慣れちゃうくらい、コクられているそうです。

One time, Morimori was asked to talk about things he was surprised at first, but then later on became used to. Morimori responded "Vocabulary used in the profession (seiyuu?), and being confessed to by Hoshi." Apparently, Hoshi-kun confessed to Morimori to the point where Morimori became used to it.

Hahahahaha. For some reason I really want to see that. Anyway, I'm quite doubtful with the last line about Hoshi-kun confessing a lot to Morimori, I keep hearing that one about the time Hoshi-kun was drunk and confessed to Morimori in a taxi, but other than that I didn't hear anything... @_@

5.聞こえる・・・・

愛犬・アクセル君の「ワン！｣という鳴き声が、時々、森っちの耳には「パパ！｣聞こえるそうな。

A short one, but cute. When Morimori's Axl-kun barks, sometimes Morimori can hear "Papa" out of that...

*_* Wow. Haha, I have no other comments. Well, Morimori DID say something like he sometimes feels Axl-kun can almost speak during a Neoromance event... haha.

6.森っちの、クセは・・・・

うまい肉を食べると、ついつい肉写メールをしてしまう。
「この間は牛丼で、その前は焼肉でした」　(宮田さん談)

When he eats some good-tasting meat, he'd have the habit to mail the photos of the said meat to others.
Quoted from Miyata Kouki, "A while ago it was beef rice, and then before that it was yakiniku (grilled meat, usually pork)."

Hahaha. It feels like Morimori wants to share his love of meat to others.



One thing Morimori can't stand...

7.もりもりの苦手な物は「牛乳」
でも乳製品は好きだとか。
牛乳に近いものがダメらしいです

That is... "milk". But apparently Morimori likes dairy products. it's just that Morimori doesn't seem to like things that are close to milk (maybe yogurt and all that?).

I'm opposite. I like milk, but can't stand most other dairy products like cheese and yogurt... haha.



During a school trip Morimori...

8.森川さんは男子高校時代の修学旅行で寝台列車に乗って行ったらしいのですが、その途中の通過駅を通る時真っ裸になって窓に張り付いたことがあるらしい。かなり見るに耐えない格好だったみたいです。

During a high school (the source also said it was an all-male school) trip Morimori was riding on the train - these trains had beds attached... um... the trains that are equipped for overnight travel and all. And while the train was passing by a station, apparently Morimori clinged onto the window while NAKED.

...Hahahaha! What a fun guy.



A long time ago, Morimori was asked "To compare an animal to yourself, what would that animal be?"

9.以前、『自分を動物に例えると？』という質問を、森もりが引き当てた時。

「そういうのって自分じゃ、わかんないよー。逆に、俺を動物に例えたら何か聞きたいよー。」と、言ったので、
石田さんが、「森川くんは真面目で熱血漢だから、警察犬とかじゃない？」と答えた。
すると
「ラブラドール・レトリバーにして！」と、森もりが、言ったので
石田さんは、「じゃ、『笑いのとれるレトリバー』で。」と答えた。
森もりは、とてもうれしそうでした・・・。

"About that, even I don't know~. To turn it around, I want to ask if I was compared to an animal, what animal would I be~" When Morimori said that, Ishida-san (for some reason he was around; the sources don't say when or where this took place) said "Because Morikawa-kun is a serious and a hot-blooded person, wouldn't you be a police dog?" "Say Labrador Retriever!" said Morimori, and so, Ishida-san replied, "Then, I'll say 'A Labrador that forces laughs from others'" (thank you im_an_aaangel for a more accurate translation!!). Morimori seemed to be quite happy about that.

I'm sorry for the weird 'obtained' thingy... toreru has quite a bit of meanings, and when it's stuck with 'warai no toreru', it feels completely strange to me, so I tried my best. Since Morimori was happy with the answer, Ishida-san probably said something like that XD I want to hear this conversation!!!



Morimori = Katori Shingo!?

森川サンは、
ＳＭＡＰの香取慎吾に間違えられたことがある。

『おまえら』のイベント終了後、駅が出待ちのファンでごった返し、周囲が
「え？もしかして芸能人がいるの？？」的な雰囲気になっている時、
一般のおばさんから「あんた香取慎吾でしょ！？」と何度も言われ、
隣にいたマネージャーに間違えられていた檜山サンは
「こいつ違いますから！」と笑いながら説得した。

Morikawa-san was once mistakened as SMAP's Katori Shingo.

It was after an Omaera event, and the train station were jammming with fans waiting (not too sure about this), and when the atmosphere suddenly became "EH? Could it be that some idol is here?", some normal obasan suddenly said "You are Katori Shingo, aren't you!?" - and repeatedly. And standing beside Morikawa-san was Hiyama-san, who was mistakened for Katori Shingo's manager, laughed and said 'He isn't!' and somehow convinced the obasan.

This is Katori Shingo @ AsianHunk... I wouldn't say they look alike enough for those obasan to mistaken him as Katori... I guess maybe because of Morimori's blond hair??



When it rains...

雨が降ると…
遅刻する。

雨が降ってると急ぐと足元が滑るから、との事で
毎回遅刻してくるそうです。

When it rains... he is late (for recordings and such.)

When it rains and he rushes, his foot often slips, and therefore it seems that he is almost always late (when it rains.)



Being a fan of the Yokohama Bay Stars...

横浜ベイスターズのファンで、日本シリーズのときと収録日が重なり、理由をつけて、収録日を変えてもらっていた。

補足　あとでバレてしまった。

It was said that because during the Japan series, the days clashed with his days for recording, therefore he got the days of the recordings changed.

Morimori and barriers...

去年歌舞伎町で突然誰かに「森川！」と呼ばれ、即座に結界を作ったと（笑）。実はその声は檜山さんだった。

From the recent NHG event, there was a talk where they'd draw out several keywords of the anime and talk about them. The word was barrier. Though Morimori said he never did put any barrier up around himself, there was a time... last year, when he went to Kabukichou (red-light district in Shinjuku), he heard a voice calling him, "MORIKAWA!" - and right there he 'created a barrier'. In reality the voice was Hiyama-san's.



Morimori and Ultra Seven...

子供の頃に・・・
森川さんは子供の頃ウルトラセブンが好きでよく観ていたみたいですが、怪奇色が強いストーリーの多いセブンなだけに、観た後に怖くなって眠れなかったことがよくあったそうな・・・

When Morimori was a child, he liked Ultra Seven (Wiki definition... think Ultraman) a lot and watched it often. However, the series was a bit scary and he often was too scared to sleep after watching it..



Morimori and kidnapper

Taken from his 20th anniversary CD, Morimori talked about an episode in Yokohama, where he came across a kidnapper (hitosarai). He and his mother were in a zoo, and he was looking at the penguins while holding his mother's hand when suddenly he realized he was holding someone else's hand. Morimori recalled that his parents searched for him with their lives, and of course, they found him. Morimori said there was a photo taken back then, though he can't find it anymore, he said he was very cute in the photo, enough that he would want to bring home such a kid as well. Morimori also wondered what would've happened to Morikawa Toshiyuki if his parents didn't find him back then.



An embarrassing event

A little warning for this one - I didn't completely understand the latter part... if anyone does, please tell me.
Again, taken from his 20th anniversary CD, Morimori talked about an episode about elementary school lunch. Usually, it would be school lunch/menu (kyuushoku), but there would be bentou-days as well, where they pack their own lunches. Mothers would always try their hardest to not embarrass their children and make nice lunches for them. In one of those bentou days, Morimori was given Oden as his lunch. He put it in his bag, along with his textbooks, but the lid was not closed tightly, and thus the broth spilled out, and onto his textbooks. As he flipped through his textbooks, it'd smell like Oden. When he went home that day, he said he wanted to make his mother kneel down and apologize to him for embarrassing him.



Morimori's very first job

Hatsugoe! Taken from his anniversary CD, Morimori's first word in his first job was "A", next was "I"... etc etc. Yes, he was to pronounce the fifty sounds of Japanese as one of those educational tapes for non-Japanese. He mentioned that he was very nervous, enough to feel his heartbeat (and was so nervous that he described being not able to feel where his heart is) and others around him as well could hear it. From a sensei (didn't catch the name) advised him to make a good impression with a greeting (aisatsu), so, when Morimori knocked onto the studio door and walked in, in a loud voice, he said, "I'm newcomer Morikawa Toshiyuki, yoroshiku onegaishimasu!" - but the only person in the room was a demae delivery person from a soba store. XD



Elementary-school-Morimori and Valentine's Day

Morimori said he was extremely popular back in elementary school (probably one of the most popular), and that he would often receive TONS and TONS of chocolate on Valentine's Day and it was a bit taihen. One of the memories he said he had from back then was running away from crowds of girls with his friend on Valentine's Day, so that they wouldn't be caught by the girls. If they were caught, they would be forced to take the chocolate.



Morimori's First Date

His first date was back when he was in his hometown. He went to a skate rink. And because he said he wouldn't know what to say if they went only as a couple - so he went as a group date of around 6 people... He described the feeling as it was like a group of friends pushing Morimori on the back (to maybe talk more with the girl etc) but Morimori going "Stop that!" And during the date he would keep thinking not to fall and not to embarrass himself.



Before and after Morikawa Toshiyuki...

Morimori thinks in his past life, he was an Italian male, profession in the fine arts, and probably was short-lived. THAT, or he was a Spanish male, and profession in bullfighting (Torero) and again, probably short-lived. Or, he would probably be a Spanish dancer. And in his next life, he thinks he will be an Italian fisherman/hunter (He said ryoushi, which could be 漁師, a fisher or or 猟師, a hunter).



All the way to the ceiling!

From here, apparently Morimori has a Christmas tree he puts in his home (that is HUGE, goes almost all the way to the ceiling) 365 days a year and he has it decorated all year long.



Itadakimasu...

From the Saint Beast Comedy CD free talk, as the theme was "funny/interesting episode", Morimori talked about the time (and only one time XD) Axl peed on him! They were both lying on the sofa when Axl rolled onto Morimori's knees FACE UP. Morimori then went to tickle Axl's chin and just said things like "What's up?" etc when suddenly he described Axl moved his face as if something happened. A second later, Morimori looked down Axl, and the instant that he did his face was already wet OTL OTL OTL He said he was so shocked, but Axl was also equally shocked!!!

He then warned people if your dogs roll on their backs, be careful. (I have to be careful too ORZ)



Train tickets

Morimori does not have a Suica or Pasmo, a card where you charge money into and what most people (at least in Tokyo anyways) use to pay to pass ticket gates in subway and train stations (as well as buy things from vending machines or any stores that have these machines) In the tokuten free talk for drama CD Kono Kuchibiru ni Yoru no Tsuyu, Morimori reveals that he still buys tickets whenever he rides the trains.



Special Axl

Morimori brought Axl to a studio once. It was complete chaos, quoted from Morimori. Axl ran around the lobby when Morimori entered the recording booth.
